Taken from the showing at the 2007 Comic-Con. I'm thinkin' Robert Downey Jr. Is gonna make one hell of a Tony Stark. The footage isn't the clearest picture, but it's fairly long and shows more than anything we've seen so far.

Henson, O'Bannon on Farscape Webisodes

Farscape's Executive producer Brian Henson appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday where he spoke to a panel audience about the upcoming Farscape webisodes ordered by the Sci-Fi network. According to Henson, series co-creator Rockne S. O'Bannon will collaborate with him on the new scripts.
“As for the project, we're not allowed to actually tell you anything about it," Henson said. "What we are doing with Farscape is having a lot of fun and in the experimental media of webisodes; it takes Farscape to its next chapter. There's very little we can say creatively, other than I'm sure there will be characters there that you all know, and I'm sure there will be characters that will be new."
Henson went on to explain that the episodes would run from 3 to 6 minutes each, which sounds marginally better than the earlier news of 2 minute episodes. He also stressed that it is still very early in the creation process. This leads me to speculate that the project may grow into something far beyond it's original plans. The Farscape team is used to doing things on a grand scale. With enough interest from the fans, we just may see a more suitable season 5 for our beloved show.

Details on Kevin Smith's Horror Project

Kevin Smith, known best for his dialogue rich comedies which gave birth to the now famous Jay and Silent Bob, has revealed his plans to write and direct a horror movie. The film, tentatively titled "Red State" is slated for a 2008 release.
The plot centers around a group of misfits who encounter "fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America." According to Smith, The villain of the story was inspired primarily by one man, Self proclaimed "Primitive Baptist" preacher Fred Phelps, owner of godhatesfags.com.
"That dude has always fascinated me and he's really informed the horror movie that I'm working on," Smith told us, "The movie's called 'Red State' and it's very much about that subject matter, that point of view and that position taken to the absolute extreme. It's certainly not Phelps himself but it's very much inspired by a Phelps figure."

Smith has labeled the film as "horror" although he's not sure that die hard horror fans will agree.
"To me there's all kinds of horror, and killing someone's not the absolute worst thing you could do to another human being..."
Kevin has yet to make a film I didn't like. Sure, I could have done without "Jersey Girl" (although it did make for a date movie I could endure), but for the most part I've always enjoyed his writing. The way he manages to slip his brand of social commentary into the dick and fart jokes had me hooked since the first clerks movie. So to hear that Kevin is going to write a horror film, one of my favorites genres of all time, is exiting enough to make my man nipples hard. With any luck, Jay and silent bob will sit this one out.

Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. discussion on Dinner for 5
Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man Director Jon Favreau sat down for a discussion on Dinner for Five upon wrapping up shooting for next years "Iron Man" movie. Downey mentions how this felt like one of the few "real" movies he's worked on during his career. Kind of a short clip but interesting none the less.

Red Dawn. Better now than in '84?

I recently watched 1984's Red Dawn
The film starts out with soviet paratroopers landing in a schoolyard, some teachers and schoolkids are killed, and the Russian invasion begins. A group of these kids, led by a young Patrick Swayze, flee into the mountains. It doesn't take long for them to get a hold of some weapons (this was an 80's action movie after all) and begin to use everything from suitcase bombs, to Molotov cocktails to fight back against the invading commies.
What separates this from most action films of the 80's is the hopelessness of the kids fight. They are severely outnumbered, outgunned, inexperienced... and it eventually takes it's toll in blood. They have no chance of having any serious impact much less surviving at all, and yet they continue to fight. Even when their numbers begin to diminish, 1 by 1.
Which brings me to my point. I doubt our war in the middle east will ever end. Much as the kids in Red Dawn were willing to die to defend their way of life, Our enemies in the middle-east will continue to fight without fear of death until the end of time. They don't want anyone telling them how to live any more then we would. They will continue to use whatever is at their disposal to fight back, no matter how futile their efforts may be.
If you get the chance to see Red Dawn again, imagine the soviets as the US, and Patrick Swayze's gang of rebels as the "terrorists". The similarities are striking.
Maybe it's just me but I think it's high time they let our boys come home. If we're really defending our way of life, we should be able to do it on our own soil.
Ah... Supergirl. Smallville Heats Up.

I just saw news of this posted at SciFi Ranter Girl. Did a bit of digging and found this little bone posted up at TVsquad.com. WARNING, possible spoilers ahead.
Vandervoort fits the description from the Supergirl casting call: Caucasian 19-year-old who must be blond, smart, beautiful and funny. However, she is 22-years-old but since Tom Welling is a 30-year-old playing a teen, I guess fans will allow the actress to be three years older than the character!
Laura Vandervoort is better known for her portrayal of Sadie in Canada's Instant Star. She also guest starred on various TV shows such as CSI, The Dresden Files, Doc, and Mutant X.
Smallvillefans should expect a handful from Kara. Series creator Al Gough reveals that he wanted a character who would shake things up. "She may be Clark Kent's cousin, but that doesn't mean she's going to be the obedient one!" he added in an interview with People. The character is also said to possess all of Clark's powers, including some he yet has to develop (read here that she can fly). Her rebellious demeanor will put her at odds with Clark but will intrigue Lex. She will potentially be a love interest for Jimmy Olsen. Kara is set to make her first appearance in the Season 7 premiere which should air sometime mid-September.
I'm actually surprised it's taken them this long to introduce Supergirl to the show. But hey I'm not complaining. Always room for one more hottie in the cast.
Myspace Bars 29,000 Sex Offenders

Myspace has tracked down and removed the profiles of 29,000 convicted sex offenders from their website. Hopefully They've taken steps to ensure that these same pervs won't be able to re-register under new aliases or else this is little more than an attempt to appease the outraged parents who've been "screaming for action" for quite some time.
While they're at it, maybe the good folks at myspace could start tracking down the 10 years olds with the overly made up faces who lie about their ages in order to create a profile on myspace. (The current age requirement is 14). You have to wonder where their parents are when their daughters are posing for myspace pictures and posting their life story on a public website.
We all have a job to do when it comes to protecting the children. Parents screaming at website owners, record labels and the like ought to take a step back and ask themselves what they are doing to protect their kids.
Director for 2008 Wolverine solo film revealed

Last week Marvel revealed on their website that Gavin Hood, director of 2005's Academy Award winning film "Totsi" and the upcoming "Rendition", was all set to direct the "Wolverine" solo film.
The screenplay, written by writer David Benioff (25th hour, Troy) will focus on Wolverine's Origin and early adventures.
I'm hoping for the best on this one. Wolverine was one of my favorite character's when I was a kid. I don't understand why Marvel brings in outside talent to adapt their stories for the big screen. They have some excellent writers on staff. The script makes the movie for me, so here's hoping Benioff does his homework.
Does she really have nothing better to do?

So good ol' firecrotch got arrested again. DUI... again. Cocaine in her pocket and a blood alcohol level of 0.12. This just 5 days after being booked in connection with a drunk driving charge from May. Of course Lohan was back out within a few hours after posting $25,000 bail.
You know, It's not uncommon for kids in small town America to turn to drinking and drugs out of sheer boredom. Hell my friends and I were living proof of that. The best thing we could come up with was to get wasted and hang out on my roof. But if you've got $25,000 to blow in a day, not to mention god knows how much cash in the bank, and half of Hollywood's elite in your cell phone, you'd think you could come up with something more interesting to do with your time.
But Lohan is hardly the first celebrity to go this route, and I'm sure she won't be the last. I mean hey, this is what celebs do right? Why break the mold? I mean if you're going to be the hottest thing in show biz you have two choices. You can go with intoxicated, or crazy. You know like building an amusement park in your backyard, or buying the elephant man's bones. My advice Lindsey, go with crazy. You'll live longer, get just as much press, and hey, roller coasters can make you projectile vomit just as easily as a 5th of vodka.

Heath Ledger IS The Joker
The much anticipated sequel to 2005's Batman Begins will feature Heath Ledger as Batman's most notorious Foe, The Joker. It wasn't too hard to find a few pics of Ledger in costume so I thought I'd share them with you all here. The Dark Knight is scheduled for release in the US on the 18th of July, 2008. Hopefully this one will keep the same dark tone of the previous movie.

Iron Man Movie Pics
I managed to dig up some pics of the upcoming Iron Man movie starring Robert Downey Jr. The Film, slated for release in 2008, will also star Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, and Samuel L. Jackson. After reading Marvel's "Civil War" story arc, I can't say I'm Iron Man's biggest fan, but these sneak peak pics have definitely sparked my curiosity. Hell it's gotta be better than Catwoman right?

Holy impressive guitar solo!
Guys like this make me want to throw my guitar out in the street and never play again. Then again, this guy is jamming by himself in his bedroom. Where as I jam with 4 other guys in a spare room. I guess I can take comfort in that.
Guitar scale mastery.

John Rambo Official Trailer
Okay. I'll admit, as a die hard Rocky fan, I watched last year's "Rocky Balboa". Hell, I'll even admit I enjoyed it. The "never give up" theme underlying the Rocky movies is timeless. Always relevant. Rambo on the other hand is a character, much like Beverly hill's cop's "Axel Foley", should be left in the 80's. I'm gonna go on record and say this film will fare about as well as Beverly hill's cop 3 did.
The Return Of Farscape!
If you don't realize how BIG this news is, Than you must not have had the privilege of seeing Farscape
during it's tragically short 4 year run on the Sci-Fi Channel. The show introduces us to American astronaut John Crighton in the year 1994 who finds himself "shot through a wormhole, into a distant part of the galaxy". He's taken in by a band of escaped prisoners who don't get along very well and by the end of the first episode, he's already got an "insane military commander" out for his blood. Initially the show was a light hearted, family friendly sci-fi romp through the universe, but near the end of season one things began to take a darker more mature tone and this is when Farscape began to shine. Unfortunately, at the end of the fourth season the show was cancelled by sci-fi. Fans, desperate for a conclusion, managed to raise the funds, and the interest of The Sci-Fi Network, to allow the cast and crew to return for a 4 hour mini-series " The Peacekeeper Wars
", which until now was considered to be the end of Farscape.
Press release from the Sci-Fi channel:
I haven't been this excited since I accidentally walked into the girl's locker room back in high school. For more of what Farscape is about, check out the season one trailer clip below.

Kevin Smith - WonderCon '06 Q&A
I've been a fan of Kevin Smith since I first saw "clerks" back in the nineties. The man truly has a way with words. In this vid, he gives an entertaining Q&A much in the style of his An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder
dvd. He takes questions Ranging from his unfinished projects like the "daredevil: Target" comic book mini-series, to what it was like on the set of "Clerks II
". More entertaining than some stand-up comedians I've seen, I'm sure you'll enjoy this.
