Farscape's Executive producer Brian Henson appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday where he spoke to a panel audience about the upcoming Farscape webisodes ordered by the Sci-Fi network. According to Henson, series co-creator Rockne S. O'Bannon will collaborate with him on the new scripts.
“As for the project, we're not allowed to actually tell you anything about it," Henson said. "What we are doing with Farscape is having a lot of fun and in the experimental media of webisodes; it takes Farscape to its next chapter. There's very little we can say creatively, other than I'm sure there will be characters there that you all know, and I'm sure there will be characters that will be new."
Henson went on to explain that the episodes would run from 3 to 6 minutes each, which sounds marginally better than the earlier news of 2 minute episodes. He also stressed that it is still very early in the creation process. This leads me to speculate that the project may grow into something far beyond it's original plans. The Farscape team is used to doing things on a grand scale. With enough interest from the fans, we just may see a more suitable season 5 for our beloved show.
